DUPLIN COUNTY, FASTER INTERNET IS ON THE WAY!

FOCUS Broadband is dedicated to bringing high-speed internet to the rural communities of Duplin County. Since 2020, we’ve secured over $6.4 million dollars in state broadband funding to bring our 100% fiber optic network to unserved rural areas throughout the county.

Using two grants awarded in 2020 by the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) Grant program, FOCUS Broadband has made fiber-optic delivered gigabit internet available for over 1,000 residents and businesses in rural areas near Wallace, Rose Hill, Teachey and Magnolia. A third grant, awarded in 2022, is helping FOCUS Broadband expand to serve another 1,000 residents near Chinquapin, Maple Hill and Beaulaville. FOCUS Broadband has contributed $2.3 million dollars towards these projects.

In May of 2024, FOCUS Broadband submitted a grant application for Round 5 of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) ReConnect Program. If awarded, the grant will allow us to expand our fiber optic network to bring high-speed internet to even more unserved Duplin County areas. The application is currently pending, and no date has been released on when this round of grant recipients will be announced.

Our success in obtaining the grants necessary to connect rural Duplin County would not have been possible without the support of numerous residents, business owners, and community leaders. We extend our sincere thanks to all who have supported our efforts. Your support was a key factor in helping make our applications a success.

We are excited to be able to serve you!
